A Black man’s death manifesto: my 10 rules

Let’s get real honest for a second. A few notes about me just to clear anything up. If something were to happen to me in a manner similar to what we are witnessing, please remember these 10 things:

1. I don’t need you to beg white people to not be racist on my behalf. That’s dumb and beneath us. Don’t beg anyone to love me or us that don’t already.

2. Don’t say I would’ve wanted peace, nah, AVENGE me. Especially my friends that I KNOW have put in work before.

3. If someone taped me getting killed and they start doing rounds about said taping, snuff them.

4. I don’t need you to interview my parents or family members, they can’t really speak on my behalf (maybe my aunt Tammy, cousin Alec, or uncle Skipper). If you interview any other family members, they’re just making up stuff. I promise. Never been a family dude like that.

5. Don’t do a “Say his name” campaign or anything that may get likes for folks on social media. No new stars should come from my death.

6. Don’t do that thing where folks change it to something regarding “people of color”, nah, I’m BLACK fam.

7. For the love of the GOD, don’t let Shaun King do any fundraisers in my name. If you do, I’m haunting you until you die. I’m serious, don’t give Blood a red cent on my behalf.

8. Don’t let folks over-intellectualize what happened. Keep it simple like, “He was murdered. Keep the guy free. We got it.” and then move accordingly. Taking it to court means nothing.

9. Don’t let Diddy (whom I respect and am happy that the Revolt platform is here) hold a “Family Meeting” and then have the likes of Amy Schumer and Shaun King speak on said platform.

10. Something better happen to the folks that took me out. Something. This is for all the folks today that say things like, “I’m not my ancestors, you’ll catch these hands.”-type folks. Well dammit, hands, feet, and everything else better be caught by the culprits. Not the way y’all “caught” George Zimmerman who is still out here living and just walking around whistling dixie.

Thank you for coming to my TedTalk. God Bless.

Legal Obligatory text plus all the fancy words I learned from my expensive college education that didn’t prevent me from being a target in the first place.

*I am not an advocate for violence. I am just recognizing the laws of physics that dictate that every action has an equal and opposite reaction except for when you kill Black folks where the only reactions tend to be putting dead Black folks on trial posthumously. I just want this law to be as consistent as the law of gravity. Y’all be safe.
