Black Emancipatory Education Playlist Vol. 1

If you have ever listened to an episode of the 8 Black Hands podcast, you know I always remind our audience that us as Black folks, are on our own. In the latest episode (Ep. 28: Emancipatory Education), we discussed exactly what emancipatory education is to us and why it is important. One of the things, we discussed was using our own expertise to help our people so I created a playlist that clocks in at under an hour. It is made of mixed media including Youtube videos and PDFs of book chapters.

We gotta take care of us. I love everyone, but I have never been ok with waiting for others to do right by me or us. The playlist can be completed in one sitting or over the course of a week. It can be a set of “Do-Nows” in a classroom or something that a family does together. Consume it how you want and create and share your own playlists.

Love is an action. So this is how I am trying to show love. In the meantime, check out other resources that I rely on heavily when I need my dose of Black love and education.
